I work in an attendance office and frequently must tell parents of their child’s unexcused absences or truancies. By applying the things I have learned in this class, I will be able to present this bad news to parents in such a way that they will not be on the defensive and they will hopefully be willing to explore alternatives to the problem by working together to a successful solution.

In the future when I convey negative information to someone, I will be tactful and consider my words carefully. The “Bad News Components” are like an outline to success in relating to other people.
